St Patrick’s College participates in the annual QSchools Mackay AFL Competition. This competition is usually held in Semester 1 and includes both boys' and girls’ teams. Teams are divided into the following groups: Years 7/8, Years 9/10, and Years 11/12. The winner of each age group then proceeds to the next round of the competition, which is the NQ/CQ final, with hopes of then proceeding to the state final.
