Responsible Thinking Process

One of the most valuable life-lessons a student can learn is responsibility. The Responsible Thinking Process (RTP) is designed to teach students to take responsibility, not only for their actions and behaviour but also for their learning. The aim of the process is to help teach students to get what they want without causing a disruption within the classroom.

At St Patrick's College, it is our philosophy that teachers have the right to teach and students have the right to learn in a safe and respectful environment. No student has the right to hinder the learning environment or threaten the safety of others. When a student disrupts, a staff member will ask them a series of questions that provides the opportunity for the student to settle, reflect on their behaviour and make the necessary changes.
